Prague is said to be the city lying right in the heart of Europe. The Czech capital has many nicknames; “Mother of Cities”, “City of a Hundred Spires” or “Golden City”. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, making the city one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Vienna, the capital of Austria, the city of waltz, classical music, delicious pastries and wine taverns, waiting to be discovered by you. It lies on the banks of the majestic Danube river and surely is a year-round destination with splendid sights, monumental architecture, imperial history and busy cultural life. And last, but not least, the largest city of Hungary, Budapest. Regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, its extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue, Heroes' Square and the Millennium Underground Railway. Come and explore these breathtaking magical cities with us.
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN PRAGUE
Welcome to the “Mother of Cities“ or “Golden City“, as Prague is called. An English -speaking guide will take you to your hotel. Rest of the day is free. Night in a 3-star hotel close to the city-centre.
DAY 2 – PRAGUE CITY TOUR
It´s your first day in Prague. Discover the city on an open top bus! The city center is a mélange of stunning architecture, from Gothic, Renaissance and baroque to neoclassical, art nouveau and cubist. See the Dancing House, St Ciril and Method Church, Charles Square, National Museum and Jewish Quarter. Hop on and off whenever wanted, také as many pictures as you like, stroll around, have a coffee break. You get a 48 hrs. ticket. Night in the hotel. (If you wish we can organize any other kind of city tour for you, e.g. private, small group, audio)
DAY 3 – LUNCH CRUISE DOWN VLTAVA RIVER
In the morning you can set off to the city again, to discover it more deeply. You still have a valid bus ticket. Or just sleep long, to get ready for the noon program. You will be picked up at your hotel to admire unique and scenic panoramic views as you cruise down the Vlatva River past many famous historical and cultural sites. The cruise includes an excellent buffet lunch on board. You past many famous landmarks, you will have a spectacular panoramic view of Prague Castle, you will see famous St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, Petrin with its copy of the Eiffel Tower, the National Theatre, Vysehrad Castle and Slavin Cemetery where many of the most famous Czech personalities now rest. The cruise takes 2,5 hrs. The late afternoon and evening are free. What about doing some souveniers shopping? Niht in the hotel.
DAY 4 – KARLSTEJN CASTLE TOUR
Today in the morning you will have the opportunity to visit Karlstejn Castle, one of the most impressive Gothic castles in the Czech Republic. It was founded in the 14th century by the Emperor Charles IV to become a treasury of the crown jewels and holy relics. It is situated on a picturesque site in the middle of dense forests not far from the Capital and you will be picked up at the hotel for this tour. Afternoon is at your leisure, you can go on discovering the city for the last time, if you still missed something. Night in the hotel.
DAY 5 – PRAGUE – VIENNA
At around 10 a.m. you get on a train which takes you in less than 5 hours to the capital of Austria, Vienna. After arrival you make your way to your hotel close to the city centre. The rest of the day is at leisure. You can either go out into the streets or relax.
DAY 6 – VIENNA CITY TOUR
Vienna is another gorgeous city. After breakfast you set off (hotel pick-up) for a half-day city tour which will give you an overall impression of the most significant Vienna sights. You will start the ride on the Ringstrasse, where we show you numerous magnificent buildings, such as the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History, the Parliament, the City Hall, the University, the Votive Church or Urania. The highlight of this tour will be a visit of the impressive Schonbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburg family. Afternoon program is left at your discretion. Night in the hotel.
DAY 7 – MAYERLING, DINNER AND CONCERT (D)
The third day in Vienna expects you a half-day excursion of Vienna Woods. Starting at the romantic City of Baden famous for its thermal springs, you will visit the former hunting lodge (Carmelite Monastery nowadays), where Crown Prince Rudolph died tragically in 1889. Then you move on to the Heiligenkreuz where you will be showed around the medieval abbey and the grave of last the Babenberger. Lastly, you arrive at the gorgeous Seegrotte to enjoy a boat-ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe. Return to Vienna, to the already known Opera House, is scheduled around the noon whereas afternoon is at your leisure again. You can look forward to a pleasant evening. After a typical Viennese meal you will be taken to a concert. The popular Vienna Mozart-Orchestra in period costumes plays for you many of the everlasting melodies by W. A. Mozart. To save the best for last, you will get a free Mozart-Orchestra CD. Dinner, concert ticket and transfer to the concert are all included. Night in the hotel.
DAY 8 – VIENNA - BUDAPEST
It is time to pack your luggage again and set off for Budapest. You will take a train again to reach the Hungarian capital in less than 3 hours. Here you check in in a hotel and spend the rest of the day depending on you.
DAY 9 – CITY TOUR AND EVENING CONCERT
After breakfast you start a 3-hour long tour by a van at the Chain Bridge. You will pass the Parliament and cross the Margaret Bridge, which connects Pest and Buda with the Margaret Island. Your first stop is the historical Castle District in Buda, where you take a walk to the Matthias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion through the ancient cobblestone streets. The next stop is a short walk up to the Citadel on the Gellért Hill, where the best panoramic view of Budapest can be seen. After the walk, you will return to the Pest side via the Elizabeth Bridge. You can admire there an old market as well as the biggest synagogue in Europe. You will also stop at the “Heroes Square” known for its statues of the most famous Hungarian kings and dukes. After this, you will continue to the Andrássy Avenue. On the way you will be able to see the Opera House and St Stephen’s Basilica. During the three hours of guided tour you will be presented a brief outline of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history. The day is not over yet. You will have some free time and then spend an enjoyable evening at a folklore show, admiring Hungarian live music and authentic dances in national costumes. Then you will return for the night to the hotel. (Pick up and transfer to the concert is not included).
DAY 10 – SPA & WELLNESS
Today there is no official program. Depending on you we can arrange a whole day visit to a thermal spa where you can enjoy massages, have special healing baths, warm up your body in regular or herbal saunas and undergo other available services. This day can also be devoted to another city tour (see optional tours below). Night in the hotel.
DAY 11 - DEPARTURE FROM BUDAPEST
If you do not wish to extend your stay, it´s time to say goodbye. We will arrange for you transfer to the airport so that you catch your flight to your home country.
